Breathe: A Beginner's Guide to Mindfulness

Melissa Colon

The number of college students struggling with mental health is on the rise. College can be a very stressful transitional time in a person's life and can lead to the development of anxiety, depression, or both. Mindfulness techniques are proven to help with anxiety, depression and stress reduction. The practice of Mindfulness has a long history and originates from Hindu and Buddhist traditions. Mindfulness is the ability to stay focused, while being aware and recognizing your thoughts, distractions, and emotions and assessing without judgement.

Breath: A Beginner’s Guide to Mindfulness, is a book aimed at college students who are interested in Mindfulness, or who are looking for tools to help them with mental health and stress management. This book provides Mindfulness meditations and activities to help a beginner get started on their mindfulness journey.
